Watching the weigh-in Ward seemed to look extremely focused. Kovalev looked to be antagonistic. I thought watching the weigh-in that either Ward would win by decision or Kovalev would win by KO.

On my way down to the events center, I stopped by the sports book and put a $100.00 on a Kovalev victory and $100.00 on a Kovalev KO. I’m not a gambler or better, but for fun, being in Vegas I figured I that’d have a little fun and maybe win a couple bucks. Needless to say that didn’t happen.

The fight was awesome! You knew the night was different when the under card fights ended so quickly. Great fights with big endings.

From the beginning of the fight Ward was landing the heavier shots. He was more dialed in. Kovalev was the aggressor and was throwing more punches but they didn’t have the impact that Wards punches had. Ward seemed to be very prepared for the fight.

SOG. When the crowd chanted SOG the thought hit me, I’m in Vegas the sin Capitol of the world and the crowd is chanting SOG. I thought wow! This crowd is chanting Son of God! The power of God in a place of darkness. The Son of God is being praised by the majority of the Mandalay Bay! The irony was incredible. The Son of God being worshiped by an arena of non believers! It was incredible! God is good! I love Andre Ward and his story. I love his faith in Jesus Christ! I see Andre Ward and I think that’s the type of roll model I want to see in this world!

The fight was magnificent !

Ward hits Kovalev with a great shot to the head. Kovalev is wobbled. Ward moves in for the Kill, misses a shot. Throws an uppercut to the body, Kovalev is bent in half. Ward throws again and again and the referee waives Kovalev out! Ward is the light weight champion of the world! He retains his belts! What a fight! What a great fight!
